Your role as Financial Controller
As a key member of our VIDA finance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial and non-financial reporting processes. You will work closely with international finance teams in VIDA bioenergy and it’s shareholder VTTI to build and optimize reporting practices, strengthen internal controls, and support compliance with regulatory requirements, such as IFRS and ESG standards. The role reports to VIDA’s CFO and requires frequent engagement with the leadership team and the teams on our sites.
What you’ll do
- Oversee the monthly consolidation process for financial and ESG data.
- Analyze monthly reports from subsidiaries and prepare budget vs actual reports for management.
- Prepare annual consolidated financial statements and disclosures in compliance with IFRS.
- Support the implementation of ESG reporting in line with regulatory requirements.
- Advise local finance teams on complex financial transactions.
- Maintain and improve the standard chart of accounts and accounting policies.
- Research technical accounting issues and provide solutions for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and drive improvements in internal control and governance frameworks across the organization.
- Coordinate the company’s audit process.
- Coordinate tax filings with central tax team
- Contribute to impactful projects, such as IT system upgrades, M&A initiatives, and tax-related programs.
What we’re looking for
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, or Financial Control.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with relevant certifications (e.g., RA, RC, CIMA).
- Solid knowledge of IFRS and ESG reporting requirements.
- Experience with internal control frameworks and financial systems.
- Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Dutch is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a willingness to collaborate across diverse teams.
