Your role as Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations across VIDA Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) business. Your role will include preparing consolidated financial statements, maintaining general ledger accounts, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. You will also handle tax filings, support audits, assist in annual report preparation, highlight risks and opportunities and recommend cost-saving measures. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software are essential for this role.
VIDA Bioenergy is a new company and the successful candidate in this role will need to enjoy the dynamics of a growing and developing company and utilize it professional and team-playing skills to support this business growth in a structured and fit-for-purpose manner.
The Senior Accountant will report directly to Financial Controller and work closely with operations and administration of individual RNG plants across Netherlands, The United Kingdom and Poland. Furthermore, the Senior Accountant will be the deputy Financial controller for the RNG business.
What you’ll do
Managing Financial Operations: Overseeing the preparation, verification, and maintenance of financial records, including journal entries and general ledger accounts;
Financial Reporting: Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements and ESG data with supporting commentary. Working closely with VTTI Group reporting team to ensure Group reporting standards are met. Assisting in annual report preparation;
Strong Capex control: Ensuring project capex reports are complete and meet financial expectations;
Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial statements and reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement;
Guiding and Mentoring: Assisting in the training and development of junior saff, providing guidance on best practices, and resolving complex accounting issues;
Audit and Tax Support: Collaborating with auditors and assisting with financial audits to ensure compliance and accuracy. Working closely with tax professionals to prepare tax returns and meet tax obligations;
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts;
Policies and Procedures: Assisting in the preparation of RNG business Accounting policy preparation;
Compliance: Ensuring that financial transactions comply with relevant regulations and accounting principles.
