Construction has officially commenced, with completion expected in 18 months and commercial operations targeted for mid-2026.
The groundbreaking ceremony was led by VIDA bioenergy CEO Lars Boetje, joined by Mark Newton, representing the Landowners, along with project developer Biowatt and members of the VIDA business development and construction teams.
Lars Boetje, CEO of VIDA bioenergy, shared: “The Wormslade facility demonstrates our commitment to building a sustainable future. By converting agricultural by-products into clean biomethane, we’re not only supporting the UK’s renewable energy goals but also strengthening local communities and advancing the circular economy.”
This facility will become VIDA bioenergy’s third plant in Europe, alongside its flagship operational plant in Tilburg, Netherlands, and the soon-to-be operational plant in Glentham, UK.
